13.1-Create Website Forms

Create Subscription Form

Website forms are placed on a web page and are used to get or exchange different kinds of information. One of the important website forms are subscription forms, for the visitors/clients of the website/product to subscribe to the newsletter or subscription list.

MUMARA provides a trouble free way to add new subscribers to your lists by using subscription forms. The following area defines the quick steps to create a new subscription form.

Reach “New website” form under “Website Forms” to create a new subscription form.

Creating New Subscription Form

Creation of the subscription form takes more than one step to complete the process. Each step is discussed as below.

1st Step: Setting Up Basic Details

The first step consists of the fields to provide basic details in the process of creating a new subscription form.

Form Name

Name of the new website form you are about to create. The name can be anything relevant to the purpose of the form, like “Subscription Form”. The name is for your reference only and the subscribers will not be able to view this name.

Double Opt-in

Double opt-in is the most recommended process to build a list of current and active subscribers. In the process a visitor/client fills the form placed at your website to subscribe to your list, and in return, you send them a link to confirm their email to complete the double opt-in process of subscription.

 

The default position of the button is directing the system to follow the double opt-in process of subscription.  If you don’t want to adhere to the double opt-in process of subscription, just move this button towards the left side with your mouse and turn this option as “No”

Thank You Email

By default the button is set to send the thank you email on completing the subscription process. You’ll have the ability to modify the text of “Thank You” email in next steps of creating the new website form. If you want to skip this option, work this button towards left.

Campaign Format

Do you want your subscribers to select the format of email they prefer to receive? Or you want to select the preferred format (HTML or Text) for the subscribers by yourself. In both cases, the dropdown offers you the options to select an appropriate one.

Subscriber List

Select subscriber list, to add a visitor/client who completes the process of subscription directly to the selected list. To obtain required information, you will have the ability to select the fields for the subscribers to fill for subscription.

Just tick the box with the custom fields which appear after clicking the name of the list.

Selected Fields

The custom fields which you have selected above will appear in this box. This shows which fields a new subscriber needs to fill, in order to complete the subscription?

2nd Step: Confirmation

Which action you want to the system to take, once the new visitor/client completes with the required information? Both the available options are discussed in the following area.

a)      1st option: Show Confirmation Page

Confirmation Page

The editor shows the default text which is to be appeared on the confirmation page, once the new visitor/client completes the required information.  This indicates to the new subscriber that the confirmation of the email is remaining to complete the process of the subscription.

You can either choose this default text, or can modify it to more appropriate content for the confirmation page.

b)      2nd option: Take the Subscriber to Following Website.

Website Address

The option will let you provide a website link/URL for the subscribers to land on, once the required information for the subscription is completed. The process and other related information to send the confirmation email will remain the same, as described in the table below. Website Address is the only different field which appears other than the general confirmation email sending options.

SMTP List

List of currently available SMTP accounts, to select one or more for the purpose of sending the confirmation email.

Confirmation From Name

Provide the name of the sender, who is sending the confirmation email. It can be a company name as well.

Rest of the information about the sender like from email and bounce email address, will be taken out from the sender information batch saved in the selected SMTP account. However, the email will be sent using the “From Name” which you'll provide in this very field.  

Confirmation Email Subject

The subject line as described earlier while discussing the chapters like "Create New Email Campaign" or "Create Auto Responder Campaign" is one of the important parts of an email campaign to improve the results, especially in terms of improving the open rates. Write an appropriate subject for the confirmation email, for example “Confirm Subscription”

HTML Content

HTML content editor helps creating HTML content for the confirmation email. .  The “Tool Bar” at the top of the content editor will help to perform various actions like uploading new document, inserting pictures or table into the content, adding or removing anchor tag, choosing a font family for the content and other related tasks.

Select Custom Variables

Dynamic tag improves the relevancy of your content to a large extent, which helps to accelerate the process of achieving the targets. When you click “Select Custom Variables” a dropdown menu will appear on your screen, clicking on any of the element in dropdown will create a dynamic tag in the body of your content.

Select Custom Fields

Clicking on any of the element in dropdown will create a dynamic tag in the body of your content.

Note: Only the additional custom fields that were added while creating the list will appear in this dropdown, for example a field for gender, designation or something else according to your requirement.

Spin tags

If no spin tag has been setup, the dropdown will remain empty. If you have created some spin tags earlier, the dropdown will show you the list of available spin tags to use with the content of confirmation email.

Copy As Text

Copy the text from HTML editor to the Text Editor by just clicking the button. No matter how long the content is.

Text Content

Editor for creating the text content for confirmation email, you can add the dynamic tags into the text content as well, just follow the same procedure as described above to add dynamic tags.

3rd Step: Thank You Email

Following the same process as described for the confirmation action and confirmation email in the area above, select one of the “Thank You” actions and provide related information to send “Thank You” email.

a)      1st option: Show Thank You Page

Thank You Page

Click this option to show the particular page, once the new subscriber confirms his/her subscription. You can modify the default content, or can also create the content for the thank you page using the content editor. The page directs the new subscribers that the subscription process has been completed successfully, and he/she has subscribed to the mailing list.

b)      2nd Option: Take the Subscriber to Following Website

Website Address

The option will let you provide a website link/URL for the subscribers to land on, once the subscriber completes the process of subscription. The process and other related information to send the thank you email will remain the same, as described in the table below. 4th Step: Error Message

The final step of creating a new website form is related to the error message options. In case an error occurs during the process of subscription, the subscriber will view an error message, either on the error page or will be directed to particular website. These two options are discussed below.

a)      Show an Error Page

Selection of this option allows creating an error message to show, when an error occurs during the process of subscription. The content editor carries the default error content for the error page, however you can modify the content to create more appropriate error message.

b)      Take the Subscriber to following Website

Provide a complete URL of the website/ web page to which you want the subscribers to land on, in case of an error occurs during the process of subscription.  After you complete this field, click submit to complete the process of creating a new website form.
