Setup Overview

The Setup menu holds the things you configure once and then reuse across your campaigns and transactional email: the domains you send from, your dedicated IPs and pools, forms, templates, your funds balance and your API keys.

Unlike self-hosted email software, there's no sending infrastructure to build here. Mumara ONE runs the sending servers for you, so Setup is mostly about proving which domains are yours and deciding how your email should use the resources on your plan.

What's in the Setup menu​

Dedicated infrastructure depends on your plan

Dedicated IPs and Dedicated Pools are part of the plans that include dedicated infrastructure. On other plans your email goes out from Mumara ONE's shared infrastructure and these items may not appear in your menu. See Mumara ONE pricing for what each plan includes.

What Mumara ONE manages for you​

Some settings you may know from self-hosted email software aren't in the Setup menu, because Mumara ONE runs them for every account:

  • Sending servers. There are no sending nodes, SMTP servers or mail transfer agents to configure.
  • Bounce handling. Bounces come back to Mumara ONE through the bounce domain you verify for each sending domain, and they're processed automatically. There are no bounce mailboxes or bounce rules to set up.
  • Complaint feedback loops. Spam complaints reported by mailbox providers come back to your account automatically.
  • Return-path mail server. The mail server behind your bounce domain is ours. You only publish the DNS records shown on the sending domain's page.
  1. Add and verify a sending domain. Go to Setup → Sending Domains, add the domain you send from and publish its DNS records. Do this first: DNS changes can take a few hours to propagate, and you can't send from a domain until it's verified. See Sending Domains.
  2. Order Dedicated IPs (plans with dedicated infrastructure). Order them under Setup → Dedicated IPs. See Dedicated IPs.
  3. Group your IPs into Dedicated Pools (plans with dedicated infrastructure). For example, create one pool for marketing email and another for transactional email under Setup → Dedicated Pools. See Dedicated Pools.
  4. Create API keys if an application will connect to Mumara ONE. Give each integration its own key under Setup → API Keys. See API Keys.
  5. Add web forms and templates whenever you need them. They don't block sending.
