Drip Campaigns

View and manage drip groups, add new drips and organize them.

Overview

Drip Campaigns are automated email sequences that send based on time intervals after a trigger event occurs. Unlike scheduled campaigns that you manually initiate, drip campaigns are activated by Triggers - when a contact is added to a list, updates a profile field, or meets other conditions you define.

How Drip Campaigns Work

  TRIGGER DRIP GROUP DRIPS
(Actions -> --> (Settings & --> (Timed email
Triggers) SMTP config) sequence)
|
v
Drip 1 --> Drip 2 --> Drip 3
(Instant) (5 min) (10 min)

Workflow:

  1. Create a Drip Group with sending configuration
  2. Add Drips (individual emails) to the group with timing intervals
  3. Set up a Trigger (under Actions → Triggers) to start the drip group
  4. When the trigger fires, contacts enter the drip sequence

Managing Drips

Activating/Deactivating

  3. Save changes

Inactive drips will not send even when triggered.

Editing a Drip

  1. Click the actions menu next to a drip

  4. Save changes

Changes affect future sends only.

Reordering Drips

Drips execute based on their delay timing, not list order. To change the sequence:

  1. Edit each drip
  2. Adjust the delay timing in Step 2
  3. Save changes

Best Practices

Sequence Design

  • Map the journey - Plan the complete sequence before building
  • Logical progression - Each email should build on previous ones
  • Clear goals - Define what each drip should achieve
  • Consistent timing - Predictable intervals build expectations

Content Tips

  • Value-focused - Each drip should provide value
  • Single CTA - One clear action per email
  • Personal tone - Write like a helpful friend
  • Mobile-friendly - Most emails are read on mobile

Timing Guidelines

  • Welcome email - Send instantly (Upon Triggering)
  • Early sequence - 1-3 day intervals
  • Mid sequence - 3-7 day intervals
  • Later drips - Weekly or less frequent

Troubleshooting

Drip Not Sending

Possible causes:

  • Drip status is inactive
  • Drip group not linked to a trigger
  • Trigger not configured or inactive
  • Contact doesn't match trigger criteria

Solutions:

  • Verify drip status is active
  • Check trigger configuration under Actions → Triggers
  • Verify trigger event matches expected criteria
  • Check contact meets trigger conditions

Wrong Timing

Possible causes:

  • Incorrect interval configuration
  • Server time zone issues

Solutions:

  • Review interval settings in Step 2
  • Check server time configuration

Contacts Not Receiving Sequence

Possible causes:

  • "Send to Existing Contacts" disabled for new contacts
  • Contact status is unconfirmed and "Skip unconfirmed" is enabled
  • SMTP server issues

Solutions:

  • Check "Send to Existing Contacts" setting
  • Verify contact confirmation status
  • Check sending node status and logs
